Abandoned Chihuahuas: "Someone Else Will Take Them"

It was 96 degrees today in New York City, and yet, someone abandoned three little Chihuahuas in my neighborhood park, Fort Tryon.

The dogs were found without collars in the dog run's holding pen, with a bowl of water and a note saying to call animal rescue. They were scared, huddling, and hot, as there was no shade. One of them was very young.
Let's hear it for those people who make up for the bad behavior of the "someone else will take them" people, and actually make sure these dogs got to a rescue before it got dark. Kevin Klepper is one of them.

Thank you, Kevin.

  1. That is so sad, those poor babies! So glad people have such open hearts for these babes.

  2. It would have been hard to just leave them... they were shaking, and freaked out. The chihuahua rescue lady came and swooped them up into her arms. They do private rescue, so that dogs don't end up in kill shelters.

  4. hey there! Just came across your blog post! My group, www.bullyproject.org took these three chis into our adoption program that day. We brought the shy, frightened pups to the emergency room to make sure they were hydrated and healthy since it was 96 degrees out...You will be happy to know that they are all healthy and happy dogs! I actually ended up adopting one of them! She is on instagram:https://www.instagram.com/cricket.in.the.city/?hl=en

  5. Many dogs who haven’t spent time around children find toddlers confusing and intimidating. Some find them downright scary!
